What I find insulting is the mind set of many people (mostly females) that question my parenting abilities on the sole assumption, that because I am a father (male) I know nothing of parenting. Gender has nothing to do with parenting skills - Fatherhood and motherhood skills have to be learned. Neither gender has an inbuilt genetic code for parenting ability. I have been actively involved in ALL aspects of parenting in raising ALL of my daughters. I could give alot of advice here being a father five times, over 18+ years. Instead, the following website is in my opinion - EXCELLENT. |
Children with a disability Our new section on children with a disability explores topics such as your feelings, others' reactions and working with disability professionals. It also includes a handy reference of disability terms. |
Parenting in pictures These step-by-step guides help you master essential baby care skills such as breastfeeding, bathing and changing nappies. |
Encouraging good behaviour Our behaviour toolkit offers strategies to help you encourage good behaviour and deal positively with challenging behaviour. |
